The Most Expensive Fight Ever
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know by now that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have decided to have a fight on August 26th and finally put the rumors to bed about when they would be doing it. This will be the most expensive fight ever, with the pay-per-view projected to cost a full $100 and will see McGregor earn an estimated $100 million and Mayweather earn an estimated $175 million. Needless to say, everyone will be excited for this fight, but I think a lot of people will be disappointed.
Here’s why: I think the McGregor-Mayweather fight will be over after just 1 round. This fight is such a mismatch that I feel there are only two possible outcomes. First, the more likely outcome, is that Floyd Mayweather completely outclasses McGregor in boxing and either knocks him out or forces a stoppage by the referee by hitting McGregor so effectively and gives McGregor zero chance of responding. The other, much less likely, outcome is that McGregor somehow catches everyone off-guard and knocks Mayweather out.
Either way, I feel like the massive hype that this fight is generating is going to end up disappointing a lot of people. This won’t be a good fight. It’ll be a one-sided fight that ends very quickly, or it will be a very good, single round of boxing that people pay $100 to see.
