A Mental Downward Spiral

The saga that Antonio Brown has been on over the past few years is nothing short of concerning. After racking up a substantial rap sheet, as well as bouncing around to four different franchises in two years, Antonio Brown’s apparent mental health issues can no longer be swept under the rug. It’s past time to get this man some help for the problems he so obviously has.

Normally, this issue could be fixed using some mitigation tactics and a bit of therapy. Problem is, we’re not dealing with a normal person with issues; we’re dealing with Antonio Brown, probably the biggest wide receiver diva since Terrell Owens. That makes the task of getting help a whole lot more difficult.

Honestly, it’s time to focus entirely on getting Brown to a state where he’s mentally alright. After straight up walking out on the Buccaneers in the middle of the game this weekend, his NFL career is absolutely over. No other team will want to extend him an olive branch. So, we should focus entirely on getting Brown the help he needs, because his behavior is disturbing on a number of levels.

It’s unfortunate that such a terrific career was cut short by something he can’t control, but it’s time to focus on Antonio Brown the person. Because Antonio Brown, the person, is badly tainting the legacy of Antonio Brown, the player.
